Each underpad can replace up to 60 disposable pads

Standard Textile, a global leader in healthcare and hospitality textiles, introduces Surpass, a reusable underpad designed to elevate patient care while advancing sustainability and reducing costs for healthcare providers. Incontinence care has long relied on single-use disposable underpads for their convenience and performance over existing reusable options, but their use comes at a significant cost—contributing to the healthcare industry’s waste burden of 29 pounds per bed per day and driving up long-term expenses. Surpass offers unmatched moisture control, rapid surface drying and exceptional patient comfort that meets or exceeds the performance of current disposable and reusable alternatives. Each Surpass underpad can replace up to 60 disposable pads, significantly reducing waste and delivering substantial savings over time. Powered by HydroLock Technology, Surpass features a high-capacity absorbent multi-layer core that rapidly wicks away moisture, preventing rewet and keeping skin drier. By minimizing moisture accumulation, Surpass helps maintain a healthier microclimate, essential in preventing moisture-associated skin damage. “Our goal is to help healthcare providers deliver better patient outcomes while reducing environmental impact and operational costs,” says Frank Kerley, vice president of Business Development for Standard Textile’s Textile Division. “Surpass delivers on all fronts, setting a new standard for sustainable incontinence care.” Surpass is designed without PFAS or PVC to be safer for patients, staff and the environment. It also dries faster than other reusable underpads, saving time and energy in laundry processes, and its durable construction minimizes wear and tear, lowering lifecycle costs for healthcare facilities. “At Standard Textile, we innovate with purpose—developing textiles that provide real solutions for our customers through advanced materials and thoughtful design,” says Dr. Richard Holbert, Jr., vice president of Research and Development at Standard Textile. “Surpass reflects this commitment, integrating cutting-edge technology with responsible innovation to enhance both performance and sustainability.”
